Taking pictures for Interiorator was the last thing on my mind when I was in the Dutch town of Dordrecht earlier this month. In fact, all I could think about was how excited (and nervous) I was to see my husband star in a play at a local theater festival held at the Energiehuis. Still, I got there early and while waiting for the show to start at the Khotinsky restaurant next to the theater, I decided to take out my camera after all. Just take a look at the pictures and I’m sure you’ll understand why.

With a monumental power plant to call its home, the Energiehuis cultural center could not have been at a more impressive location. I was particularly impressed  by the exposed brickwork and the ceiling that was left pretty much  intact. It made for a dramatic, industrial setting that made sparks fly – especially combined with the Downstairs chandelier by Bertjan Pot (which I’d already seen at the 2012 edition of Woonbeurs, by the way).

Anyhoo, the play went great, I went home early and decided to go back again some time soon. End of story!
